NAS Welcomes Thomas Kelly to the Projects Team

NAS is delighted to welcome Thomas Kelly to his new role on the Projects Team as a Consultant Liaison, Engineer and Support. Thomas will assist with d&b, Midas and various other brands as NAS builds its company portfolio and structure.

Thomas brings over 25 years of AV experience to his new role at NAS. After cutting his teeth in the events world as a freelance technician, Thomas moved over to installation working TCP as a service technician and control systems programmer. Here, he worked on various corporate and club projects including boardroom fitouts, training facilities, noise masking solutions, nightclub fitouts and sporting facility PA systems. Thomas then spent nine years working for The PA People as a field service technician and systems engineer. He also assisted The PA People’s production department on events such as Darling Harbour Australia spectaculars, NRL Grand Finals, and the 2000 and 2004 Olympics.

In October 2005, Thomas received an opportunity to work in distribution at Audio Telex (now Hills AV), where he contributed in a number of roles in brand management and technical support over the next nine years. At Audio Telex, Thomas’s growing interest in electroacoustic design and hearing assistance technologies eventuated in him becoming the senior acoustic modeller and a leading designer educator in the discipline of induction loops. With Ampetronic, Thomas ran various education programs around Australia with the Deafness Forum promoting the BCA changes for hearing assistance in 2011. He has also been a guest and keynote presenter at InfoComm and the AETM on the same topic.

In 2014, Thomas moved to APG as their training manager. This role turned Thomas into a ‘Biamp Guru’ and he gained certifications in VoIP, Audia, Tesira Forte, Tesira, Vocia, and Biamp’s new advanced course AV LAB. Through this time Thomas also worked on a number of speaker design projects.

In 2016 Biamp distribution shifted to Midwich. Thomas followed this move, continuing as a Biamp-certified trainer for Australia and New Zealand, along with engineering various solutions for entertainment and transport infrastructure projects.

NAS is excited to have Thomas onboard, where his wealth of experience and knowledge will no doubt be an asset to the company and especially the NAS Projects Team.
